Did You Go To Your High School Class Reunion

Mines was last year. I did not go. I was pregnant, 9 months. I was too heavy in my stomach to go. I had slightly swollen feet. It was so hard for me to walk. Besides I am kind of glad that I did not go. The people in my class, of high school were snobs. They acted like they were better than me and others, whom did not get down with them like that. There were many cliques in my school. People only liked you if you fit their standards. I had only a certain amount of friends that I hung out with, and still this day. Besides there are so many people who said that they did not go to theirs. Even people I know from my own high school said that they did not went. People whom have came out years ago, has never went to theirs. At first I wanted to go, but I thought about it, and decided that I wasn't missing out on anything.

It's been almost 8 years since I've finished high school and I haven't been at a single reunion after the very first one. Not that I didn't like my classmates, they were nice folks but I always happened to be somewhere away at the time of the reunion. Besides,we used to be buddies but didn't have much in common. I thought we lost all contact for good but a couple of months ago i signed up with classmates.com like website. Found many of them there and, surprisingly,we still have stuff to talk about. Growing up did us well and made us finally equal so I might go to whatever reunion I happen to be around [AnakSuNamun]
Well,it wasn't Classmates.com one since i grew up in a different country and I don't have any classmates here lol But the concept is pretty much same [AnakSuNamun]

Why would I want to go see a bunch of jerks who constantly teased and harassed me, when all I've been trying to do for the past decade is forget them and the hurtful things they did to me? [ihearttinytim]
Yes I agree with you. [cream97]

Hi cream97! I attended mine November of last year and we are going to have it on December this year. I was not suppose to attend the last year's reunion but a close friend of mine who just flew in from the USA begged me to attend with her. However, this year although she is flying back here, I told her already that I have no more intention to attend. However, my schoolmates are no snobs, they are very friendly but I do sense some hypocrisy in that. Because I found out later that they talk about the lives of our classmates and they would not leave anything unturned. Just like you, I think I won't be missing out on anything if I won't attend. Take care and have a nice day! happy [faith210]

I had great time in high school and great friends. Unfortunately, I don't live in the same country anymore and so the most of my high school friends. This should be our 20th anniversary since graduation, but I don't think there will be any reunion. I would like to go though. [Natrak]

HI There. Not yet, haven't gone to any high school reunion yet; since my school hasn't planned in having a highschool reunion yet... Maybe another more years heheh [jesbellaine]

Cream 97, I wasnt pregnant, but I dated a very pouplar guy though highschool but I wasnt very popular myself weird you know? Their also was a lot of snobs, and people that I just didnt like. I'm not interested at ALL to going to my reunion when it comes around. I think if you were popular and active in highschool then I guess it would be for that kinda person but its not for me ! [sophiasmom911]

My ten year high school reunion is this year, I have not plans on going. There isn't anyone who I'd be the least interested in seeing that I don't already see in my everyday life. I'm not sure how many people will be going but I doubt it will be many. There were tons of "cliques" and the groups never intermingled with each other. My boyfriend went to his ten year a couple of years back, he had a great time, but his class was a lot different than mine. [dandj929]

I look at it this way: I enjoyed high school immensely, due to being involved in music and drama [it was a great start, and I have worked professionally in the arts since then]. Had a lot of fun and made some great memories. But those were just three years out of my life [back in the day, high school was just 10th-12th grades], so I've just never had a fierce desire to see those people again. Hell, I even got rid of my annuals a long time ago -- I just didn't see the point in revisiting those times [after about five years I had stopped pulling them out to stroll down memory lane, so why keep them around to take up space and collect dust?] I will admit that I was slightly tempted to attend my 10th reunion, but a theatre project had a dress rehearsal scheduled for that evening. When the 20th reunion rolled around in 2000, I didn't even think about it [I was working in New York at the time]. [jason_co]

No I did not go, I was in Germany when my 5 year reunion took place, and when the 10 year reunion happened, I never knew it, and nobody looked for me, oh gee darn, and I've looked on classmates.com and reunion.com and seems, I'm the one nobody misses. I have no desire to go back and hobnob with the people i went to highschool with. Nuh uh, no way.... They hated me then, I'm sure they'll hate me just as much now. Mooch [oneandonemakesix]

Yes, I always go to my high school reunion whenever there is one, and I always have fun. I am not that successful as my other friends are but I dont feel outcasted at all, I have this principle that we are all equal no matter what they achieved in life, they were just lucky that they got what they wanted in life. Although I was not lucky and succesful as they are, I know that I am happy with my life, we were not that sure if they are. And I guess I am lucky that people changed, some of my snob classmates and schoolmates have matured too, and they dont treat you the way they did before, what they want is to have fun at reminisce of the past which is I find it fun too. We brought some pictures way back from high school and we talked and laughed of the crazy things we did way back then. And we get in touch and get together once in a while. [elle43]

I just responded to another discussion about this. I graduated from high school like two years ago and I don't really think their is going to be any reunion. My high school was a really small high school and I don't really see it coming about. I would like for their to be a high school reunion so I could see all my friends. I was really nice to everyone and I think that everyone liked me. There were cliques in my high school but not as bad as in other high schools. I mean people made fun of other people but not so harshly or anything like that. Those four years were the best of my life. [ayumitakashi]

cream no I havent beento my high school reunion in many years.I just did not have the money to travel so far from Ca to go to South Dakota where I went to high school. Now my health is also a factor. but thats okay I am sure I did not miss much. [Hatley]

I have been out of school for MANY years and went to most of my high school reunions and was glad that I did. One time I was a couple months from tying with having the most children......I was a few months pregnant!! I was not popular but most everyone knew me and we also had many cliques. It was really cool to have some of my friends from elementary school come and talk to me and it was even better to have some of the good looking guys who I didn't know all that well stop and speak to me. The last one I went to I sat near a couple of women who I didn't know in high school and we had a riot talking about the snobbish clique girls and the way they were behaving. This was just after I had split with my second husband and I had paid for both of us to have dinner so I was really pissed that it has cost me so much.......I really wish I had invited my sister. I tried to get one of my friends to go ON ME but she had several excuses..........she was very shy in school, so I think that is why she didn't want to go. I am glad that I went each time. [idowrite72]

I graduated from high school in 1996. I have not been to a high school reunion yet. I know that they had one at 5 years, but I am not sure about a 10 year reunion. [lilybug]

Hi, cream97. I went to my 10 year high school reunion. I was a really nice weekend. On Friday night we had a crawfish boil at the yatch club.... everyone all casual, hanging out in the sand, catching up with old friends. Saturday morning was a family picnic at our town park where everyone had the chance to meet each others kids, played some volleyball, had fun. Saturday night was a dinner dance with a DJ. I'm glad I attended. I am old enough that I've already had my 20 year reunion as well. I was pregnant with my first child. I do not live in the same state that I went to high school. At my age, I did not want to be too far from my doctor while I was that pregnant. [makingpots]

I went to our first class reunion and I haven't been to anymore. I am still friends with the people I was close to in school and really have no reason to see the others. My class had many cliques too, and even though it was large class, everyone kind of stuck with their own group of friends. [Sherry12]

i went to my high school reunion last year only because my best friend wanted me to. we were classmates and best buddies in high school. my high school was pretty much like yours, people have their own cliques, a lot of snobs, and social climbers as well. me and my best friend were like nerds way back because we wore glasses at that time. but i was glad that i attended that reunion. people change and although there were still snobs but a lot of my classmates did mature. and they were really surprised to see me because some of them thought i'd still be the same gawky nerd in HS. =) [chaigay20]

I went to my 40th in 2003 :) One of my classmates that I hung around with me, is now the sheriff; he confided in me that we would both be serving life sentences in Gitmo as terrorists if we were in high school today (I was very good with explosives). It served me well when I joined the Navy Seals in 1965. [Vladilyich]

Oh yeah i went to my 10 yr reunion back in 2005. I had lots of fun it was great seeing people i hadn't seen in 10 yrs how they changed and what they were up to 10 yrs later. I didn't get to see everyone i was hoping to though. I'm hoping the next one there will be a few people that weren't at the 10 yr that i had hoped would be. [Timothy31]
