Yes whole class was beaten.... Due my best freind...We were in Xth class. And my best freind came into school premises late on that day. As national anthum was going on at that time. We all were singing national anthum. But my friend without parking his LUNA in parking stand suddnley stop in the ground and stand there and started singing national anthom from there. As everyone was attracted toward him due to his stupidness and started laoughing. Our class teacher saw this. She didnt scold infront of whole school. But when we reached in class room. She slap each and every class mate along with me. Whole day we didnt got a single recess or lunch time break. Except my best friend who was late comer on LUNA and disturbed us. [anandjk]

In the USA that is no longer allowed. If a teacher takes a ruler to a student or does any harm to a student they can be fired and put in jail, and then on trial. It used to be accepted as a way to straighten the ways of a child who wasn't listening or acting out, but now it's frowned upon. In the USA now teachers can keep a student for detention, put them in in school suspension, or can have them suspended, and even expelled. Any kind of harm though that is physical requires immediate action against the teacher or person who had committed the act. [SomeCowgirl]
It was the habits of beating the students by the class teacher and was not regulated by the law , but recently it was regulated in the law and would banned the teacher to beat any students in the school, that was the reasons teacher are now stopped to beat the students in the class room. Still some teachers are preferred to beat mild if the students are doing the wrongs continuously. [Binthu]
That's terrible!!! No, it's against the law here in the US. When I went to school, some kids would be sent to the principal's office to get swats. But, I wouldn't call it beating. Yes you are right most of the countries now followed the rules similar to USA If the students are not listening the class properly or did any mistakes then they will forward to Principal to tack some action including fines, or removal of wards from the school. I was never beaten by my teacher. But My mom was in school she went to a chatholic school and was slapped on her hands with a ruler had her ears pulled. I know people when I was in school who went to the princilples office and got a beaten. and also the principle came in our class and did it to the child in class. If your parent gave school permission to beat them they they were aloud. These days they don't do that. [emilie2300]
Having the great respects and reputation in the class room would be an additional assets among the other students, and also it has been achieved only by the good studies , otherwise it is not possible to have that good name. Yes, there was a time when it was acceptable for the teacher to beat the kids. I remember being hit with a ruler. I am so glad they no longer do that. Parents should discipline kids not educators. [venshida]

When I was in school I was very much beaten by my teacher.I remember when My parents were coming to see me then they would tell the teacher to beat me if it is necessary to make her get a very good results, at that time I was very angry but now I realise that the beatings were so very important for me as I was weak in mathematics. Now when we meet our friends we just laugh about the school days and we also remind each other of the beatings we were getting. [med889]

Apart from that when we are going to punish it also helps us to learn more things which is very important in our life to improve the carrier. yes, many a times as i never used to do my homework. I remember her saying that i was the onbly girl to get punishment in sucha big class. I was very naughty and my homework was every time incomplete. [coolcat123]
