Do you remember the names of your teachers from school? I am talking about elementary, Junior High, or High School (not college)
I am 35 and can remember a majority of my teachers names. Kindergarten was Mrs. Klasna, 1st grade was Mrs. Albecker, 2nd grade was Mrs. Popelcka, 3rd and 4th was Mrs. Quaid, 5th was Mr...ummm I know it was with an L..lol. 6th grade was MR. Colangelo (my all time fave teacher) 7th and 8th I had several teachers because of different teachers for different subjects..Miss Oconnor, Mr Bayless, Mr Macnamaray, Mr McManus, Mr Budick.
High School is a far longer list that i wont bore yas with, but definitely remember quite a few of those.
How about you? Do you remember, and do you often wonder if they are still teaching or even still alive...some of mine were up in age when they taught me, so im sure some of passed, sadly.

I'm 24, lol...let's see how many I can remember! (In Order) Mrs. Ellers, Mr. Lukenbill, Mrs. Troyer, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Taylor...middle school is a bit of a blur, I don't think I remember any of the names of my sixth grade teachers. I remember Mrs. Reber from seventh grade (English - her first year teaching), Mr. Dickinson (HOT), Mr. Aukerman (Hilarious!)...that's it for seventh. Eighth? Mrs. Leichty (English - mostly nice), Ms. Koslowski (evil science teacher), Mr. Lord (evil math teacher), and the name of our AWESOME history teacher escapes me. I had some memorable high school teachers, some who were hot, some who were funny, some who were nice...but there was one that just really got to me, and that was my junior honors english teacher, Mrs. Thomas. She was an amazing teacher, really cared about her students and her subject. Very passionate and not jaded - like you don't see much anymore. My senior year I was her Teacher's Assistant. I was lucky - every year we had an Academic Honors banquet and the top ten seniors got to honor their favorite teacher. I gave a speech about Mrs. Thomas, who stood next to me at the podium. It was a very touching experience. I still keep in touch with her, too - we're on a first name basis. [youngsweetheart]
Thats great you were able to keep in touch with the teacher that meant the most to you. Not to many yrs back i went to the elementary school and was able to see my 6th grade teacher, but i have heard rumors since then that he is no longer there. I guess now that my son is in Kindergarten, adn i dont work out of the home yet, now might be a good time to maybe go and try to check in and see who is still there. thanks for sharing. I remember a few of my teachers from elementary, middle, and high. Well One from Elementary was : Mrs. Southern. The Gym Teacher was Mr. Oakley, The music teacher was Mr. Williams. Middle School : Mr. Mack, .... High School, Coach Bell, Coach Hayes, Mr. Edwards, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs Peterson.... [SomeCowgirl]
Even though I have children much older than you are, I still remember many of my teachers. Mr. Morganroth rocked fifth grade, and Mr. Donner made seventh a joy. Ms. Mastrapaolo made me love literature in 9th, and I never could pronounce Mrs. Leothertheul's name, but she made me confident in my writing in grade 10. Mr. Lindsay taught me about government and economics, and turned me into an activist, which never died out. For eleventh grade, they sent me to the University of Florida because there weren't any high school classes left that I didn't ace. Dr. Bullard gave me enormous respect for journalists, to the extent that, even though I was and still am painfully shy, I was a reporter for a few years and I scored some really important interviews. Senior year in high school was a problem because the university said I was too young to go back, so Madame Michaud, a French teacher, became my mentor and I did only independent study. She was amazing! She taught me about France, Egypt, South Africa and many other places she'd lived, and I became fascinated with other cultures. Best of all was my psychology teacher in high school. He had been my brother's roommate in college, so we had to pretend we didn't know each other, and he tried to challenge me to the extent that I'd fail at something. I did incredible projects for him, but he wasn't able to find a way to fail me. I graduated with a 5.8 average. Oddly enough, though, I hated school. I skipped a lot and, when I was caught, I was suspended very often. I had Fs in conduct in just about every class. But I kept up the grades easily, or my parents said I'd have to change my name and find another family because nobody in our house was allowed to take a class without an A. Fortunately, they didn't ask about the conduct grades or the "vacations" that other kids didn't get. I hated school because the shyness was often interpreted as aloofness or just plain snobbery, and although I had many, many friends, I didn't let anyone really get to know me. If we'd had counselors in those days, things might have been different, but as long as we parked our dinosaurs carefully in the students' lot and didn't burn the building down, they thought we were all just fine! I'm proud to have been that very special teacher for a lot of kids (yep, I hated school and now I'm a teacher!) in the 41 years I've been teaching. I dearly love my students, and they know it. I still keep in touch with many, and I teach the grandchildren of two former students! OK. it's bizarre, but I like being in school for this part of it. [cobrateacher]
LOL I love that someone who hated school so much is now a teacher...it shows taht down deep it wasnt all taht bad to be in school, or that you want to show other kids that it doesnt have to be so bad, and i commend you for that. Thanks for sharing. [faln_angel1205]
I only remember one of my teachers and that is a high school teacher. She made a very big impact on me. She always took time out with any student that needed her help. Her name is Sister Mary Francis. I had gone to a all girls high school. She took a lot of time with me especially in the subject of Algebra. I just couldn't get it and she spent a lot of time with me after school going through it and always was very patient with me. But that is the only teachers name I remember. I could attribute it to being 58 and that was a long time back that I was in high school.lol [sunshinelady]
When it comes to my teachers I have had in the past I can remember some of them such as my first grade teacher was Mrs. Idol,my second grade teacher was Mrs. Hendrix I think,My fifth grade teacher was Mrs. Idol again,it was like she was following me lol,my sixth grade teachers were Mrs. Kerr,Mrs. Martin,Mrs. Stuart,and Mr Holbert I think but I am not completely sure,and as for the rest it is hard to keep up with all the names.
