Does Your Job Have A Uniform Or A Customary Style Of Dress

We think of nurses in white, and maintenance workers in dark blue or gray button down shirts and trousers. Nursing assistants wear "scrubs". Hair Dressers wear smocks. Elementary teachers often have whole wardrobes of denim dresses and jumpers, I know I do. How about you, do you have a uniform for work? What is it?

For 40 years as a teacher and principal and supervisory officer it was a 3 piece suit with tie I understand to day many teachers do not dress that way and certainly donot wear a tie but in my day we did and the lady teachers wore dresses and pants were never seen until the late 1980's I like the idea of uniforms Good Luck Now retired its a T shirt ,shorts and Jogging shoes I gave all my suits away to the Good Shephard except for 1 or 2 and i will not say why we kept them Good Luck [vmks31]

Nurses wear scrubs. I honestly miss the white uniforms, I thought we looked so much more professional! The scrubs were fine when they were just white scrubs. Then came the solid colors and now millions of prints! One walks down the hall at the hospital and it looks like a circus!! Perhaps if each floor adopted a color of scrubs for their nurses or something it might look better? [crazynurse]

No, no uniform for me working at home. It's jeans & jumpers, socks, no shoes for me! In fact I wear jeans every day.No make up. In summer I wear those 3/4 pants with T-shirts every day. No one ever sees me in a dress or skirt. That my uniform. [jennybianca]

I worked for Avis for 15 years and they had a very strict dress code, and a beautiful uniform. I felt very proud of the company I worked for and my uniform extended that feeling of pride. [Anniedup]

Lucky for you all of you out there who have uniforms in their works. Me? I don't have uniform. What's nice with us is we can wear what we want! It is our own way now if we want to wear formal during first 3 days of the week. We can also wear shorts and slippers inside. Well this is a family owned business that's why they are allowing everything. But sometimes I want to have uniform because of course less spend of money buying clothes to wear everyday and thinking of what I should wear the next day. So still, having uniforms at work is the best! [MochaGirl]

Working at home I do not. But here's one you don't have. My husband works in a freezer. Well, a good part of the time. He works for a company that holds and ships frozen meats, etc. for various companies. He wears insulated work boots, insulated overalls, gloves, a balaclava, a hat, and gloves. Especially doing lifting and everything I think he stays warm enough, but when he gets home parts of his skin feel cold for all that. [SamtoEarth]

When I was still working in an office before, we do not have any uniform. Its okay with me. But I would like it more if we have at least 4 pairs of uniform so I wont be troubled about what to wear the nest day. Now I stopped and put up a small business at home. Of course I no longer have uniform. [hersmart4ever]
