Hun, I knew a man, who retired from his long time, successful business and, in his 70's went to college and became a lawyer. He passed away last month in his 90's, a long time fixture in the Austin Texas landscape. [ElicBxn]
rightwink thanks Elic [bombshell]
Hi bombshell! You should definately fulfill your dream! You are by no means to old to be what you want to be. You have a lot of living left to do. Your worried about your nieces but by being what you want to be..you will be able to help them more. You'll be making more money to contribute and you can help them with their studies. Please chase your dream friend. Don't live with regret. [JenInTN]
happy jen you are such a nice person.yes i will try and we will see whats my first reaction after frist semester.wish me luck dearhappywink [bombshell]
There is no such thing as too old, bombshell! Let me put it into some sort of a perspective for you..... You are currently 36 years of age right? (Same age as me by the way!) In 10 years you are going to be 46 correct? Now, you can either be 46 WITH a pharmaceutical qualification, or you can be 46 WITHOUT one. Either way, you're gonna be 46 regardless right? wink Make hay while the sun shines and NEVER say never! It's far more productive to get to a time far from now being grateful for what IS, rather than constantly having to wonder what could have been if only you had made better use of the time already past. Good luck. [James72]
ohh James thanks for the kind and encouraging words.hmmmmm got your point THANK YOU.but how about if i canpt manage it?rolleyesanyway we will see but i am thinking to carry on studying in my country since we are moving there soon"hopefully". [bombshell]
Well, my dad is already in his 50's and is still studying...he pursued his dream to become a lawyer, so his now taking the course. But what I've observed is that, he works extra hard than other young students in his class...because his age is kinda limiting him...in terms of memorizing and stuff. So what I'm saying is, pursue your dreams..there's no such thing as being old -though if your older, you might have a hard time - as for your nieces, I bet you can still help them out while your studying as well. And if you graduate, then you'd be able to help them more. happy [donsky14]
thanks for the encouraging words.yes i will try and we will see whats my reaction after first semesterhappy [bombshell]
hey bombshell....look its never to late to study or gain knowledge.... but if you go for it make sure you give your best and make it through.....its your dream u said it so go for it really hard ok....hope you make it....all the best [twistdbrainz]
ok then....why not just give it a try.... [twistdbrainz]
Your never to old to learn . and as you have been wanting this along time I would go for it! How long does it take to be a drugist? how much more do you need to be one? Do neices live with you are you taking care of them ? or do they live with parents.? Just why would it be up to you to get them thru school. When ya want to finish yourself!? [Lakota12]
Hello bombshell, You are still young you can still study. I am going to go to school I am 41. I don't think you are every to young to learn more. That is a good thing that you are going to study. Take care and go fulfill your dreams. [patriciaqualls]
i appreciate your strong willpower you have at this age. our life is just like a drama, where we study a lot. so age is not the causing factor to stop thinking about education. [ahzasain]
You should fulfill all your aspirations in life.. i'm 23 but haven't earned my degree yet.. why? because i've been sick for years and it's the main reason why i can't go back to school.. i hate it! complete healing/miracle is all i'm asking for.. if ever that happens, i'll be the happiest person on earth!!! i have so many dreams in life that i'd like to achieve like working abroad to help my family and relatives, helping my less fortunate brothers and sisters, etc.. [gracie04]
thats my point too! also i realy like this job since i experienced working in a pharmacy. [bombshell]
Getting old at 36? NO WAY!!..No matter how old you are anyways, you should continue your dreams, try your best. If not, you will live with regret of what you wanted to do. Show those nieces of yours how its done and set an example. I was older than you when I returned to school and soooo glad I did! I also know of Elderly people and one in particular who was 78 years old attending university just because she wanted to say she graduated. Get your education, not only to improve your lifestyle but to give yourself inner happiness and a sense of pride. [sandymay48]
sandy thank you, thank you soo muchhappywub [bombshell]
Never count yourself as old, it's how you feel that counts. I think one never gets to old to study and learn new skills. You can always help others as well as yourself. Go for it and never give up on your own dreams. Good luck [thezone]
right as they said only the cow gets old!happyhehehe.well thanks for the kind words. [bombshell]
Hi bombshell, this is an interesting one! I love to study and I definitely think that it's never too late to study no matter what someone's age is. I'm 34 years of age and I'm still studying. In fact I came out of school with no qualifications so I guess I could refer to myself as being a late starter! I get a great sense of achievement through self-study and I'm sure that you will experience the same through study. Good luck. Andrew [AndrewFreyne]
wow you enocurage me so much.well thanks and i will try, and we will see whats my reaction in first semesterwinkhappy [bombshell]
Are you kidding me? Of course you're not too old! Go for it! Study and study as long as you can and are interested, of course. Good luck! [deejean06]
thank youhappy [bombshell]
You should definitely consider finishing your studies. There is age limit in learning. So what if you're 36? It doesn't matter really. The best thing of all this is you'll get to fulfill your dreams and there's nothing like it, becoming what you want and getting to do what you wanna do. You could help while also studying, that would be great. [the_dutchess]
thanks for the kind words.yes i will give it a tryhappy [bombshell]
Hi bombshell, I don't know how long it takes to become a pharmacist but if you wan to study for it go for it...there is no age limit as to when you can start learning or finish it so just go do it...hugs littleowl [littleowl]
thanks littleowl for the encouragement.tha pharmacist is 4 yrs plus one year practicehappy.yes i will give it a try. [bombshell]
My mom started college at age 51 for Billing and Coding. She is almost halfway down now. She works part-time at night because she goes to school in the morning. I think you are never "too old" to go back to school. I wish you good luck in pursuing your dreams. :) [ABrokenNail]
huh? 51? wow impressive.anyway thanks for the wishhappy. [bombshell]
Well, you're not young. But I think it's okay to continue your education. Med students are usually older anyway right? As long as you have time to study then it should be okay. it might be a bad idea if you're always worrying about your kids. Anyway good luck in your dream. I think it's a great dream and wish you nothing but the best. :) [mimico]
thank youhappy [bombshell]
I dont think there is any age for studying or learning something. we can attain many degrees and study as much as we want until the last stage of life only thing is that we must have that zeal and interest to learn. I too have done my engineering late yes not that late i have done when i was 22 and the other students were about 19 years of age. Hence, i do consider only one thing that there is no age measurement to learn anything. [gayathrigs]
right and thanks for the encouragement [bombshell]
Go for it it. DO it. Live it. Oh if only we had all grabbed the bull by the horns and done what we really wanted at 36 and run with the dreams. No you are not to old and if you put it off and put it off one day believe me you will regret it. If you went back to school now how old would you be when you qualify and still you would have many "working" years ahead of you . Stop talking/thinking do do do ! [overhere]
wink right as they said only cow gets old not human.ok thanks and wish me luckhappy [bombshell]
No, I don't think so. Actually we have a saying here. We keep on studying until we grow old. It will never be late to learn something. It should be a kind of our habit. I think you can help a little to your nieces, but I think their family shall have the main responsibility to it. You have the rights to seek your own dream. I love China [youless]
thank you dearhappy [bombshell]
Education or study is not an enc but a means to the end. Hence there is no late so far your education and study goes. When I was doing my Master's Degree we had a classmate and she was a mother of a 18 years old daughter. She was friendly ans we were all friends regardless to our age difference and she too never felt it awkward and would come to the class regularly. Keeping this example in view I say that you just go ahead and complete what you want to do. [krajibg]
right and thank youhappy. [bombshell]
Go for it before you regret, it is not a waste of money anyway as you will gain more knowledge. still remember a person life is made from a dream, and it is our choice either to fulfill it or not. if you have everything to start why not ?? ^^ [sugiono]
tahnk you, thank youhappy sure i will but we will see what the result in first semisterrolleyes [bombshell]
happyIt's a good thing helping our loved relatives to finish their schooling, but it's also a good thing to continue with studying specially that you have the capabilities of providing for your own schooling. Learning is a great thing. Fulfill your dreams. [djoyce71]
thank you.agree, the saying said"help yourself first then otherswink [bombshell]
When I first began my bachelors degree, I learned to stay up late with upper classwomen, sleep late and skip classes and made terrible grades. Then, when my kids were grown and I was 38 or 39 years old, I went back to college to finish my degree. I "re-took" the classes pertaining to my degree. I was working full time when I began, and studying was difficult for me as all I had read for years was sci-fi and romance novels. I had to learn to retain what I read. Anyway, it took me 6 years to finish my degree, but I have a diploma to prove I did it! It's never too old to learn! [estherlou]
wow that was great!happy.thank you and yes i will trywink [bombshell]
If you are raising those nieces and are the only support they have, then I suppose it may be right to help them. If they have parents then I think they are their parents' responsibility (or else may be able to get help elsewhere if their parents can't send them to college). You are young. If you get a job that pays well as a pharmacist you may be able to help your nieces then. It's nice of you to think about your nieces, and nobody on here really knows your whole situation; but, in general, you're young and are responsible for improving your own Security first. Again, though, if you are their "fill in parent" (and they have no parents), most parents encourage their children to get the education first. Is there financial assistance from any of the schools where you live? Then everyone could get the education. [LisaHW]
no! my nieces are not with me.they are living with thier own parents but the problem is the parents has not enough money to pay for the college.but there is one niece that i promised her that me and my hubby help her to finish her shool and if we are there in philippines of course she will live with me.at the moment we still in germany but soon we are moving there thats why i am thinking to finish schooling in Philippines while my little girl is also goes in international school.anyway tahnky ous for the kind wordsi realy appreciate ithappy [bombshell]
I finished cosmetology school when I was 34, I don't think it's too late to ever catch your lifelong dream. Ever since I was a little girl I used to play hair and Make-Up with my friends. Maybe you liked to play doctor? [oraclemv]
wowwwww?i am impresswink.well maybe you are right not too late and hmm playing doctor thats for sure than hahaha just kidding.wlike said "doctor, doctor i am se*xlol.well i never had this dream when i was young.when i start working in pharmacy thats the time i realy like this job but that time i dont have enough time and money to pay the school so now i am thinking to carry this dream but we will see what happen in the first semister. [bombshell]
hey, studying again, regardless of age, is for all. i mean as we grow older we are becoming more mature and responsible and its the best time to add more knowledge. its not too late to study again and finish your school, as long as you have the resources to do it. and while you're doing it you still can help your nieces..go for it girl! [nansheeca]
thank you, thank you for the kind wordshappy [bombshell]
if i were you , i will continue to finish my studies. 36 is not really an old age. life starts at 40 so you have 4 years left to achieve that dream. in life, you have to have at least a goal that will fulfill yourself. so that you will not regret when your older . [skyejade]
wink thank youhappy [bombshell]
Hi bombshell, You are still young there...life starts at 40! hehhee! Hmmm...try to evaluate what your heart desire...there is no age limit in education! and if you really want to finish it, I am sure it will not take you too long to graduate and later on you can help your nieces...But, if you are contented also to help them this time and just postpone yours, that will also be fine! Just hear what your heart wants!happyhappyhappy [checapricorn]
you have a great heart, I know you will be blessed more! [checapricorn]
hi bombshe, sorry if i drop by to your discussion. i just reply to you for quite sometime. well yep it is not too late for old people to study... look at sharon did. right? its matter of what you want to learn and what you want to do with it. [carinio98]
i cant write at mylot very often as of now. ill be fully active when ive got the time. [carinio98]
It is NEVER, ever too late to start studying again. I am 31 years old and still trying to finish my education. And you never, ever stop learning! [hellsphreak]
thanks and wish me luck.good luck to you toohappy [bombshell]
You're not getting old at 36! I can remember being 36 and I was still taking courses for my work. I am still doing it now 20+ years later.. To me life is about learning, not necessarily all about academic things. I have taught myself computers and how to use the Internet and how to create an on-line business. I reckon, I am still learning! happy. Derek [derek_a]
wow impressive! i would like to follow your footstephappy [bombshell]
shocked Why can't you attend college or a specialty course? We can't go around forever putting our lives on hold so others can live theirs to the fullest. Attend school. Do it for yourself, for your future, and perhaps you might be in a better position to help your neices afterwards. Besides, they can fullfil their dreams at the same time that you pursue yours. Pray, don't waste an opportunity to do something wonderful for yourself. Don't look back years from now and say that you wish you had furthered your education or learned that new skill And by the way, bombshell...36 is still quite young. Wait till you're 70+ and then maybe you can say you're old. Until then DO YOU, Girl! [penny78]
hehehe thanks for enocuraging words.yes i will. ok i will accpet that i am not old"yet" lolas they said only the cow gets old hehehelol [bombshell]
You're never too old to fulfill a dream. Go to school and chase that dream. [tammytwo]
thank youhappy [bombshell]
At some point each of us must become responsible for our own life. Time to finish what you started and let your nieces work on their own goals. As you know time is often not spent as you wish, somethings have to be put off. So do your own thing. [savypat]
agreehappy.thank youhappy. [bombshell]
there is an old Chinese saying.live old ,study old ,maybe I can't express it as its original connotation.but I think it's right to live with study however old you are.In addition if you study something you like ,it is enjoyable.you just need to overcome a common problem that's your age [jiutian]
hmm thast also right live old, sutdy oldwinkhappy [bombshell]
my mom went to nursing school after age 60.. it really depends on how your health is and if you can handle it.. if both are good who cares how old you are? [moonlitmagikchild]
my moms side of the family is all like that! she is 67 now and has had cancer 4 times.. heart problems and other things but out runs 30-40 year olds.. makes me look pathetic! lol [moonlitmagikchild]
There's no word too old for studying, as long as we still live we are learn from it happy so why don't you just continue your study right now, and achieve your dream as pharmacist, it's not too late after happy Learn and study is a knowledge that people still looking for until now, and don't give up, there is no smart people in the world, the difference is they know something faster than others wink [maxilimian]
thank you and wish me luck!!! [bombshell]
yes ,if i am you , i would like to finish my dream. i think you will be a pharmacist ,if you have any problem ,i am gald to try my best to slove the problem. i major in pharmic. [cyr001]
education doesn't mind how old the person are, not even his marital status. if he really wanted to enter college, i am 25 and yet i am in 3 year in college, my colleagues/classmate are 17 years old and above but i don't mind at all. [rymebristol]
