Who was your favorite teacher in high school? Why was he/she your favorite?
My favorite was an old bachelor gentleman who taught English, Literature, and Drama. At one time he had been an actor with the traveling Chatauqua theatre players, and had many very interesting stories to tell about his travels.
He always had an interesting fact to tell us about the author of the literature we were reading at the time - sometimes stories about how the writer supposedly happened upon the idea for the writings, or a event in their lives that prompted them to write.
He was also probably the most lenient teacher in the school and would often write passes for us to walk the 2-3 blocks uptown to the the county library (and stop at the drug store for a cherry phosphate)!

My favorite teacher in high school was a science teacher. I hated science, it was always my worst subject, but I had a huge crush on him so it was okay lol. Man, he was a dreamboat, really. [wooitsmolly]
One of my faves was my English 9, English 12, Early Civilizations & European History teacher. She was in her 50's, but yet she was fun and likable. I really can't pinpoint what it was about her, I just liked her. Pretty much everyone liked her. She let us write papers about whatever we wanted and made some of the boring stuff more interesting. My favorite teacher was my 9th grade algebra teacher. I have always hated math and thought it was because I just couldn't understand it or work it out. He showed me that I could do it. He took the extra time to show me what I was missing. I ended up realizing that I could do algebra and liked it. He let me go at my own pace and I finished the book in half the year so he let me start algebra 2 that year. It was the first year I ever got A's in math. [sisterjinx]
It's hard for me to choose. I loved every one of my English teachers, plus my poetry teacher in 12th grade. I loved our choir director. The guy I had for geometry and trig was an excellent teacher. We had a teacher's strike during our 11th grade year, and the teacher's wouldn't cross the picket line. I had a college professor teach biology and that was awesome. [kenzie45230]
i would have to say that my favorite teacher was someone from highschool. he had encouraged me to write when no one else believed that i had the talent. he was really inspiring. he taught journalism and he even shared the story of how his brother was killed because of an article he wrote about the government during martial law. he also coached me on this journalism congress and we ended up winning the features article division. of course, i wrote about his story about his brother =) [jannijanni]
my college adviser was my favorite teacher because she is very very nice and smart too. never once did i see her angry and she is always helpful and is genuinely concerned for her students [misshoney]
I had two and I can't pick between them! One was my ROTC Sgt. He was soo funny and caring! He would invited us all to his house once every two months to hang out. If I had a problem I would always go to him and get his input. I still talk to him after 4 years later! He is just a great person. My other is my Latin teacher. She was crazy and she loved to teach. Even though Latin can be a pain, she made it enjoyable! Plus she would make us chessecake after our Roman celebrations.. and it was the best chessecake ever! I still talk to her also! I can't wait to see them when I go back home! [CardboardWaves]
