I have met a lot of people who have studied to as many as 5 high schools before graduating... and even more when they reached college... there are a lot of disadvantages when transferring from one school to another... so it is best for the family to stay put for the sake of the education of their children... but for some families... that is quite impossible because the parents's job forces them to move from one place to another...
In my case... since preparatory school... until i reached college... i only attended one school... i wanted to go to a different school for college... but that is where i got my scholarship... so when i graduated and was earning my own money... i enrolled for my masters degree in a different university... but i was not able to complete that...
I taught in three schools... and right now... my office is located next to a school...
So how about you... how many schools have you been to?...

I have three all in all from elementary,high school to college. I go to public in elementary which is very close to my hometown.But during high school,my parents wanted to transfer me to private ans catholic school.Because they do believe that high school should have a better foundation before entering into college.My college life is full of ups and downs specially financial,but due to the passion and my willingness to finish college,I did make it.Transferring to different schools or universities will affects your performances,if you willing to have honors then it is difficult because some universities have their own policy that a transferee may be included in the honor list but some does.Also,you need to adjust every time.Yet,due to some circumstances or needs of the family,you cannot avoid this to happen,as you said if your family's sources of income is keep moving from different place,then you have no choice.But I would rather stick to one universities and look for a boarding house to stay. Well in your case... you went to one school during your elementary studies... another high school... and another for college... that is quite acceptable... since some schools do not offer college education... in my case... the one where i went to is like the complete package... prep to masteral education is available... thanks for the response... wow, i envy you,,,i'm actually one of those people who had to attend 5 different high schools before graduating. LOL...my last high school was a home study program which is more comfy for me. Hello aseretdd, I went to four schools altogether. The first, was my primary school where I studied from age seven to twelve. The second is all girls school from thirteen to fifteen years old. I went to another boarding school when I was sixteen. I did my matriculation course for two years at another boarding school when I was eighteen. Right after graduation, I never been to any other schools as far as I could remember *smiles* [gr8life]

I have done nine-year compulsory school, two years of upper secondary school, three years of university, college of higher learning for economic. I was divorced during this time so I went for one more year to get a diploma for being an assistance nurse for geriatric care. But, the life it self is also a school, you learn things every day. I started my nine-year compulsory school in a town where we first lived. My father got a new job and we had to move to another town, I started a new nine - year compulsory school in A small village, and stayed there until I had to move up to upper secondary school in the town a couple of miles from my village. When I did my university I went to another school in a town further away from the town. For the last year I was in my primary town again, but in a school for grown ups. I have been in different schools but mostly in the same village or town. But counting them different schools I come up to 6 different schools. You are welcome [anetteh]
I was in a village from I to VIII standard and in the middle of VIII my parents along with family migrated to city. I joined a school in city and continued further education in the same city. I went on to study honours course, post graduation and found the job in this city. Started a business in this city. So compared to children of government officers (who are frequently transferred from place to place), I was lucky I changed my school only once. I liked the school and friends therein. [ssh123]

As a military brat, we were moving all the time it seemed. By the time I graduated from high school, I had attended 13 schools. My Dad retired while I was in the middle of 10th grade, so for 2 1/2 years I was able to attend the school I graduated from. [paidreader]
Transferring 13 times must have been quite tough... i wonder why military personels need to take their family every where they get assigned... it would have been much better to just leave the family for the sake of the children's education... good thing you were still able to enjoy staying put in one school... thanks for the response... Hi there aseretdd, I had 5 schools all in all, 2 in Elementary since we moved to my mom's place.One in High School and 2 when I was in COllege. I was in another University for my Masteral but I also didn't finish it! I love the idea, gives us more privilege to meet different people as well as be exposed with different culture of the schools!
